Mothers are incredibly important. As per the poem 'What Rules the World' by William Ross, "the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world". We know how critical an influence a mother makes on her children and this powerful impact also extends to wider society. Importantly, mothers need support in order to support their children, their families and their communities. Mammojo was established with a view to making a positive contribution to the lives of mothers and children around the world.
Our goal is to donate a minimum of 30% of all profits to maternal and children's charities. To achieve this and maximise our support, our business model relies on minimising paid advertising and relying on the quality of our products and word of mouth to help get our message out.
Pregnancy and childbirth should be a time of excitement, pride and overwhelming joy. When you consider that every two minutes, a woman dies from complications in childbirth, mostly in developing countries and often completely preventably, the prospect of birth seems a little more daunting for these women.
Basic maternal and newborn healthcare is essential, yet the world’s most vulnerable and hard to reach women still don't have access to clean and safe birthing environments.
Around 300,000 women and three million newborns die each year from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. The majority of these deaths occur in developing countries.
We’re ridiculously proud to be working with Birthing Kit Foundation Australia (BKFA), who provide birthing kits to field partners around the world. These partners distribute the kits and educate on their effective use. BKFA also designs for long-term social and behavioural change for mothers and newborns through collaborative community development projects with their partners.
Birthing Kits are an internationally accepted intervention to support a clean birth with each item in the kit working to reduce infections at key high-risk moments during labour, birth and immediately post birth for the mother, newborn and birth attendants.
BKFA improve maternal and newborn survival by increasing access to basic, clean supplies for childbirth and in the last decade have sent more than 1.65 million kits to organisations around the world.

Giving babies the best start in life is intrinsically linked to the support of mothers and something that we hold very dear to our hearts. We are delighted to be able to support the fantastic work of Mater Little Miracles. As part of this, Mammojo donates a portion of the purchase price of every item sold to support patient care and research for mothers and babies.
About MATER LITTLE MIRACLES
Sometimes the biggest miracles come in the smallest packages…
At Mater, every baby born and cared for is affectionately known as a ‘Mater little miracle’. That’s more than 10 000 Mater little miracles every year! The birth of a newborn should be a happy and beautiful moment in life for mothers and their families, and while most pregnancies are without complications, sadly, some babies are born premature, are seriously ill, or are simply too small to go straight home with their parents.
Every year more than 2000 of these tiny babies—some born as young as 24 weeks and weighing as little as 400 grams—come from all over Queensland and will need around the clock specialist care from the team at Mater's Neonatal Critical Care Unit. But these Mater little miracles need your help too.Whether you've had a healthy baby born at Mater, or your baby needed some extra care and support when they were born, your support of Mater Little Miracles means investing in life-saving research, care and equipment to make sure that all babies can grow up to be happy and healthy children.
